Behind the data

How we decide what's "easy"

Electify aggregates what AUB students have reported about their electives. Nothing here is official — we surface the signal and let you decide.

Where the data comes from

Electify aggregates several student-collected guides and crowdsourced reviews built up over recent semesters, plus live submissions from the people using the site. The raw contributors and their files are kept private.

How merging works

Each course is keyed by its AUB course code (e.g. ECON 203). When contributors disagree about the professor or grading style, both are kept and tagged. Ease scores are a single representative number per course, not an average. Community submissions show the average of all student-submitted ratings.

Attributes

Course-attribute tags are taken directly from the AUB general-education program (Fall 2023 onward) and cross-checked against the official list. Student-reported tags that conflict with AUB are overridden.

What Electify is not

  • ·Not affiliated with the American University of Beirut.
  • ·Not a replacement for the official AUB course catalogue, which is the only authoritative source for prerequisites, attributes, and offerings.
  • ·Not a guarantee that any course will be easy for you. Workload depends on the professor, the semester, and your background.

Reporting issues

If you spot inaccurate info — a prof who no longer teaches the course, a wrong prerequisite, a misplaced attribute — use the "Report an inaccuracy" link on each course page. Corrections are folded in on the next build.
